Zdeněk Hošek
Born 7th of October 1948 in Prague.
1968-1974 studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague - division sculpture.
He won many competitions for bronze sculptures and relieves. His bronze statue representing Antonin Dvořák is in front of the composer's birthplace in Nelahozeves.
At the same time he has devoted himself to drawing and painting. Being born and raised in old city of Prague, Hošek has been fascinated by its architecture, history, natural surrounding and endless changes of atmosphere. To be able to catch these changes, he has chosen a special media - watercolor. Through years Hošek has become a master of the perspective and light, creating misty and airy atmosphere of the picture by gradation of a color. His ability to portray the character of the city has made him one of the best living Czech watercolor artist.
Since 1970s Hošek has showed his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium.
