As a part of the corporate art program CEE-Invest v.o.s. exhibit contemporary Czech art in the Praha City Center.
On Tuesday, November 23, 2010, a private view of the exhibition Secret Gardens, showing the paintings, illustrations and prints by Marketa Lastuvkova, took place at Praha City Center building. During the private view, Ms. Lastuvkova, together with the writer Martina Komarkova presented her new book: Fairy Tales from the Forest of Kunratice, where she illustrated the text by one of the oldest and most important Czech fairy tale writers, Arnost Vit. The lovely group of small fairy tale readers gave a short performance, referring to the organization Emily klub, which helps the integration of the children from Children’s home with the children from functional families. The book is for sale and one third of the price goes to Emily Club.
From 1987 til 1996 Markéta Laštuvková studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, department for graphic art, with Prof. Čepelák and Prof. Kokolia. As a part of her studies she spent the 3-months scholarship at the Canberra School of Art in Australia. Since 1990s she has showed her work at many solo and group exhibitions. In 2009 she was awarded by Albatros Annual Prize for the best children’s book illustration. Currently, she devotes herself to painting and illustration.
All exhibited works are for sale. Exhibition continues until January 31, 2011, and can be visited by the public on Mo - Fri from 10:00 to 17:00 on the 1st floor.
