As a part of the corporate art program CEE-Invest v.o.s. exhibit contemporary Czech art in the Praha City Center.
On Thursday, 12th May 2011, a private view of the exhibition “Stillstand“ showing paintings and drawings by Jiří Mocek, took place at Praha City Center building.
This private view was organized in cooperation with Slunce Foundation (The Fundation Sun for All) aiming to help children and adults with special needs. Dr. Blanka Dvořáková, director and Radka Fišarová, patroness of Slunce Foundation, were auctioning two paintings donated by Jiří Mocek “František Palacký” and “Rudolf II.”. All proceeds from this benefit auction were remitted to Slunce Foundation.
Jiří Mocek has been showing his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions since 1966. In 1982 Anne Baruch, the famous gallerist from Chicago, USA, who was presenting Czech artists isolated behind the Iron Curtain, organized his show at her gallery. After this success in the USA, many galleries in Spain, Germany, Austria and Switzerland have exhibited his work. Lately, he has had a very close cooperation with the Prague Gallery La Femme. His paintings and drawings are represented in many public and private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad, such as the National Gallery in Prague and the Galerie Baukunst in Cologne, Germany.
All exhibited works are for sale. Exhibition continues until 31st August 2011, and can be visited by the public on Mo - Fri from 10:00 to 17:00 on the 1st floor.
