As a part of the corporate art program European Property Development (EPD) and CEE-Invest v.o.s. exhibit contemporary Czech art in the Praha City Center.
An exhibition of glass sculptures by well-known artist Blanka Adensamová entitled “Wings of Life” opened in the Praha City Center building on Thursday 25 May. The exhibition was opened by actor Jan Kanyza and saxophonist Felix Slováček.
Blanka Adensamová first appeared on the Czech glassmaking scene – and soon afterwards on the international scene – in the mid-1970s, shortly after graduating from Professor Stanislav Libensky’s glassmaking studio at the School of Applied Arts in Prague. Her work can be found in both public and private collections in Europe, America and Japan. Her many awards include the”Promotion Award” which she gained at the international exhibition Glass 84.
Blanka Adensamová makes molten glass sculptures and domestic objects, and has also created several glass etchings. She occasionally combines molten glass with natural materials.
This exhibition, entitled “Wings of Life,” traces Blanka Adensamova’s artistic journey from Romanticism to Surrealism and dream imagery. It was opened by two good friends of the artist – Jan Kanyza, with a witty speech, and Felix Slováček with a unique musical accompaniment.
The exhibition continues until 15 July 2006 and is open to the public on working days from 10 a.m. until 5p.m.
