As a part of the corporate art program CEE-Invest v.o.s. exhibit contemporary Czech art in the Praha City Center.
On Monday, 4 December 2006 the private view of an exhibition by artist Aleš Knotek took place in the Praha City Center building. Entitled 'Sectional View,' it was introduced by Dr. Vlasta Koubská.
Aleš Knotek is a founder member of the Tunel and Torzo artists' groups, and since 1995 has also been a member of the Mánes society of artists. As a painter he is oriented towards the abstract, and likes painting on both canvas and pieces of wood, changing real-life forms into symbols. He uses a delicate and sensitive colour palette, of mesmerizing transparency.
The exhibition is part of the tenth season of the popular 'Art at the Office' program, established in 1996 with the aim of supporting contemporary - particularly Czech - art, and contributing to Prague's cultural life.
As part of the program, the Praha City Center building allows its public areas to be used as exhibition space for artists. The organisers of the exhibition, together with artists and guests, drank to the further success of the program. More information on the program and current exhibitions can be found at www.prahacitycenter.cz.
The exhibition is organised by CEE Invest, which owns the Praha City Center building, and European Property Development, which administers the building.
The works in the exhibition are for sale. It continues until 30 January 2007, and can be visited by the public on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00.
